Veneers
Dr. Stacy Johnson's Dental Office is equipped to provide cosmetic services to our patients, from full mouth reconstructions to extreme makeovers. In some cases, if a patient’s teeth are extremely broken down, it may be necessary to remove the old fillings, gently shape and reduce the tooth to receive the veneer. However, some patients may be concerned with the spacing, color, size, or shape of their teeth. If a patient wishes to change any of these characteristics of their teeth and if there is enough solid structure of the tooth remaining, then they may want to use veneers.
A veneer functions much like a false fingernail. We would remove a thin layer of the tooth and replace it with a veneer that would last a lifetime. The veneer should be as strong if not stronger than the tooth itself. Veneers are matched to the color of other teeth so that the overall aesthetic appearance of your teeth is not compromised.
Lumineers
LUMINEERS® are an exciting veneer technology. These are porcelain veneers and can transform your smile without removal of sensitive tooth structure (in most cases). LUMINEERS are fabricated from Cerinate Porcelain and are extremely strong, allowing them to be much thinner than traditional porcelain veneers. Since the porcelain veneer is thinner, it closely resembles natural teeth. If tooth reduction is needed, often only minimal amounts of enamel are removed and the sensitive part of the tooth is not touched. This eliminates the need for anesthetic shots and the possibility of sensitivity afterward.
Dr Johnson and his team completed the training and received certification for the LUMINEERS procedures.
